Kids QR is a QR reader and creator for children ages 6-12 to use with a parent or guardian.

Scan, create, and read

Read a QR with the camera or from a photo. Turn a short message into a QR picture. QR recognition happens on your device.

Check web links with a parent

Websites do not open directly. A parent enters a PIN, reads the webpage text, and saves it. The child can then read that saved text without opening ads or following new links.

Videos, sign-in pages, and webpage pictures are not supported. Parents check the content themselves. Protection does not extend to other apps or browsers.

Getting started

  1. Set a six-digit parent PIN in the app.
  2. Load text from an exact HTTPS address.
  3. Read the full text and save it to the library.
  4. Lock settings before handing the device to your child.

The app supports English, Korean, and Japanese. It follows the device language by default, and a parent can change it in settings. Saved reading stays in its original language.
